Our Executive Directors and Senior Management have Worked Together with Success Over Many Years


  • Our Chairman and Chief Executive, Stewart Elliott, was a co-founder of CEPA - a Hong Kong listed independent power producer that has developed over 6,000 MW of electrical generation throughout Asia
  • After success with CEPA, Stewart Elliott and other senior management formed EWC to develop energy related projects relying on natural gas and other renewable fuels
  • Other key management team members also worked for CEPA prior to 1997 and played a key role in the rapid development of CEPA

1985
  • Incorporated in Western Australia under the name Conversion Technology
1988
  • Listed on the ASX
  • Acquires interests in the Gilmore Gas Field

1997

  • Sengkang Power Plant commences operations

2000

  • EWI provides A$34 million to us under a financial restructuring plan
  • Mr. Stewart Elliott becomes our CEO

2001

  • EWI provides further funds to us to reduce bank debt and becomes our largest shareholder
  • We changed our name to Energy World Corporation Ltd.

2003

  • Sale of our Barcaldine Power Station and other assets as part of a debt reduction programme

2006

  • We complete the purchase of El Paso’s 50% interest in the Sengkang PSC and 47.5% interest in the Sengkang Power Plant

2007

  • PLN issues to us and we accept a notice to proceed with the 60 MW expansion of the Sengkang Power Plant
  • We placed orders for the Sengkang LNG Project
  • We enter into strategic alliances with Chart and Siemens

2008

  • Became a constituent stock of the S&P / ASX 200 index
  • 60 MW Sengkang Power Plant expansion successfully achieved commercial operation
  • Initial site formation works for our Philippines LNG Hub
  • Carry out a feasibility study and preliminary discussions regarding Abbot Point LNG Project

2009

  • Contemplation of Papua New Guinea LNG Project
